What documents and conditions are required to rent a car?

• For citizens of Azerbaijan: ID card (age 19+) and driver’s license (minimum 1 year of driving experience; license validity of at least 1 year). • For foreign citizens: a copy of the passport (page with personal information and the entry stamp) and an international driver’s license (minimum 1 year of driving experience; license validity of at least 1 year). • Foreign citizens may rent a car with a foreign driver’s license for a period of up to 1 month. For long-term rentals, they must apply to an ASAN Center and obtain a temporary driver’s license of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

If the renter loses or damages the vehicle documents, are they financially responsible?

According to the contract: • Loss of the original vehicle registration certificate – 500 USD fine. • Loss of a notarized copy – 100 USD fine

Is there a penalty if the renter loses the waybill?

• No, the company does not impose a fine for losing the waybill. However, if the vehicle is operated without this document, the driver may receive an administrative penalty from the Road Police, as this is prohibited by law.
